Info Post
Synopsis: An experienced rescue team is trying to locate the six missing women in the caves of the Appalachian Mountains. Meanwhile Sarah is found wounded, covered with blood, in shock and amnesic. The Sheriff suspects she has killed her friends and forces her to return to the caves together with his deputy and the rescue team.

I'm a big fan of the first movie so I was a bit skeptical when I first heard there was going to be a sequel, but this is a worthy follow-up. The real star is back, and that's the caves themselves. Sure the creatures were scary as all hell but it's the being stuck in this claustrophobic setting that drives me nuts. Crawling through these dark caves trying to keep away from the nasty creatures is just as scary this time around I think.

This movies looks and feels very much like the first one and should please any fan of that one. It keeps the integrity of that film via a couple of returning characters (some in corpse form) and even a found video camera with some footage of the original cast. It's a nice touch to connect the 2 movies.

Plenty of gore to go around here again too, with a whole lot of grisly blood, body fluids and guts and even a big ole pit full of monster doodie.

So while not as great as the first one as the whole surprise of the crawlers is gone and I thought the characters weren't as well-defined this time, on it's own compared to most new horror films it's still a success.

7/10
